Kettlebell Workshop & Instructor Training
Highly detailed, structured workshops for anyone wanting to know more about the art of kettlebell lifting, be they a beginner starting from scratch, advanced looking to improve on technique or an instructor looking to improve their knowledge.

Workshops
The Kettlebell has gone from the Russian basement gyms to the hardcore martial arts and powerlifter gyms and now to mainstream and even Hollywood.
This meteoric rise in popularity is down to it's efficiency and effectiveness.
The humble kettlebell takes no prisoners, it calls for full body integration, it calls for good posture, core strength, explosive power and will power. If any of these elements are missing, it will either refuse to budge, or it will bite you.

Performed correctly, the kettlebell lifts will produce a powerful, efficient body. A body that looks as good as it performs.
Performed incorrectly, the kettlebell will hurt you.

Wild Geese Kettlebell workshops are designed to teach the safe use of the kettlebell. The workshops are detailed, thorough and structured in such a way that even a beginner can walk away at the end of the day and train safely with their bell at home.
We offer two main options. You may follow the Workshop syllabus, which is broken into levels 1 to 5, each level builds on the last bringing the student from absolute beginner to knowledgeable practitioner, opening the door for them to enter the Instructor program.
Or you may host a single workshop at your facility. This workshop will be tailored to your group, be they martial artists, fitness enthusiasts or GAA players we will offer the best instruction for your group.

The Workshop Syllabus
  • Level 1 - The Foundation
This is the base level, you learn the basic movement patterns that form the foundation of all future techniques.
These are the Squat, the Swing and the Press. The workshop ends with a short workout using these 3 movements.
  • Level 2 - The Core
Building on level one we introduce the next level of foundation training, the Turkish Get Up, 1 handed Swing and the Clean.
  • Level 3 - The Classics
The Snatch and Jerk are the classic kettlebell lifts. Both are explosive in nature, utilising the entire body to power the bell overhead.
  • Level 4 - Doubles
Level 4 goes back over drills learned in the previous levels but all done with double kettlebells. The snatch, front squat and jerk are emphasised but we also look at various other double kettlebell drills.
  • Level 5 - Advanced Lifting
This level will cover the "fun" stuff, advanced lifts such as the bent press, two hand anyhow, circular lifts and depending on the group and time maybe some basic kettlebell juggling.
Workshops are run regularly throughout the year at Wild Geese HQ, if you'd like more details, or wish to host a workshop at your own gym, please contact us.

Kettlebell Instructor Program
We also offer a kettlebell instructor program. This is NOT a weekend certification, it is a serious program for serious instructors.
To become an instructor you will first be tested in your technical ability with the bell. You must be proficient in all lifts up to and including those taught in the level 3 workshop.
Once you have achieved Level 3 or higher in your proficiency with the bell you will then be expected to prove your teaching skills.
This will be done either by instructing a Level 1 and 2 workshops, or by coming in and teaching the Kettlebell beginners class at Wild Geese HQ.
